In 2012 The Church of Christ at Wagga will be starting a new church in Forest Hill. It will be called the ‘Forest Hill Community Church’. It will meet at 4pm each Sunday afternoon at the Forest Hill Public School Hall opposite the Air Force base, on the Sturt Highway. It is hoped that this church will fulfill a need within Forest Hill for local worship.
The Forest Hill community has 3000 people in the area and a growing list of service shops and industries making it increasingly independent. It is hoped that this church will gradually grow to become a totally independent church itself within Forest Hill and serve the local community with the life saving message of Jesus Christ and as a centre for Christian worship, growth, service and fellowship. Initially as pastor of the Church of Christ at Wagga I will be leading this church plant team myself which is made up of a mixture of people, many of whom already live within Forest Hill or come from an experience within the defence forces and therefore have a special interest in this unique area.
This is not to say that this will be an Air Force Church. Not at all. It is intended to be a community based church and very much the family Church and as such should reflect the interests and culture of whoever the local community are that choose to be involved. Regular Forest Hill Community Church services will commence on February 19th at 4pm.
