What is it that draws us together to worship?

I believe that there exists within us as human beings a need to recognise God. At the very least, there is as Alcoholics Anonymous would say, a need to recognise a higher power.

There has only ever been one tribe in all the history of humanity that was recorded as not having a concept of God in their thinking and language. This would seem to prove my point. But where does this seemingly innate need to recognise God come from? The Bible tells us that God has designed us so it makes sense that He would place within us a need to recognise who He is.

So worship, which is the act of recognition of who God is, is an innate part of who we are. When we do it together, this gives us an extra sense of purpose because God has also created us as a community. Worship then, should be part of who we are.
