Diving into the Unknown
This time of year there are lots of people starting new jobs or new schools or other new ventures in life. It can be a little like diving into the unknown. Going to an interview may help you decide if a new job may be likely to be great, but only doing it will confirm it.
Life is like that. Sometimes you have to step out into the unknown in faith and hope. You are not entirely sure it will work out, but having made your best effort to ensure that it will, you move in to taste and see.
Some people enter their relationship with God in just the same manner. Exploring the possibility of following God first. Many times I have seen people come forward while others around them are assuming that this is a forever decision. Not always. This is simply the way people move forward while making their decision. Unfortunately some will actually reverse their direction and back away from God because they have not yet become fully committed to Him. From the Christian perspective, this is sad, but God is often (not always) the ultimate gentleman, insisting on freedom of choice for those who would choose to follow Him.
