Hardening of Israel

Writing of the failure of Israel after the flesh in the letter to the Romans, Paul asks the question whether God has cast away His people, referring in particular to ethnic Israel. Citing himself as an example, he says, "God forbid!" Then, addressing Israel after the flesh, he demonstrates the prophetic anticipation of the hardening of Israel in Moses, Isaiah, and the psalms.
