Just as the Lord began in power and effectual fruitfulness in the early church in the days of the apostles, so too in type of this did Joshua and Israel begin in their conquest of the land of Canaan after crossing the Jordan river. We consider some of the significance of this for ourselves in our day in the 21st century.
