The spiritually forlorn condition of much of the church today is exposed as rooted in a neglect of the reality of the Cross of Jesus Christ in both doctrine and practice. The responsibility for this lies firstly at the feet of the institutionalised church leadership. This does not excuse the negligence of the flock under them, although these are at a discount due to the unscriptural hierarchical structure of the church system.
